Production of this small block of old vine Merlot has produced a rich and elegant wine. Dark fruit flavors such as cranberries and blackberry are complimented by notes of cocoa, thyme, cedar, and smoke.

The Avant-Garde 2007 Merlot represents our seventh vintage of this rich and elegant wine. Production of this small block of old vine merlot began as a winemaking experiment and has become over the past years a standard in the line-up of high quality Domaine Carneros wines. A limited release is available only at the winery.
