Once again, we invite you to join us in giving thanks to Mother Earth.
In 2008 we celebrated the first harvest with all of our estate vineyards certified organic - America's only sparkling winery to achieve this distinction. In 2009, Domaine Carneros earned organic certification for our wine making facility, methods and materials.
In 2003, we installed the largest solar collection system of any winery in the world at the time, and we added even more modules in 2006. This year, we are reviewing our energy performance to identify ways to further reduce our carbon footprint. To date, our system's solar-generated electricity has reduced CO2 emissions by over 726 tons, the equivalent of -
- Removing 128 cars from the roads for a year
- Or 1,516,678 miles not driven
- Or generating enough energy to power 114 homes for a year (1.37 GWh)
From skylights to underground cooling, solar systems to organic farming, we love employing practices that keep us in harmony with the earth and improve the quality of our fruit. That's a win-win worth celebrating Earth Day and everyday! Come for a tour featuring our organic practices April 22-25, 11am, 1pm, 3pm - with owl boxes, chickens, goats and more.
Cheers,
 Eileen Crane President/Winemaker
