The story of Domaine Carneros begins with a quest. In the late 1970s, Claude Taittinger sought out the perfect spot in California to grow and produce world-class sparkling wine—comparable to his family’s famous Champagne. His pursuit landed him on a hilltop in the heart of Carneros, and he fell in love. The Taittinger family purchased a spectacular 128-acre parcel, hiring Eileen Crane in 1987 to oversee the construction of the majestic Château and craft “the finest sparkling wine” in California.
Situated atop a knoll surrounded by estate vineyards, the château brings to Carneros the elegant style of the French wine country. With its grand staircase, formal gardens, expansive outdoor terraces, marble-floored fireside salon and breathtaking views of vine-covered hills, it is an incomparably royal setting for savoring fine sparkling and still wines.

Led by our most seasoned wine educators, this experience will open your eyes to a new side of Sparkling wine. Available daily by appointment, $90/pp.
