We picked our 1.25 acres on the 23rd of September and proceeded with what we know best, gentle treatment (de-stemming without crushing and open-top fermentation) to coax out the expression of this unique site of beautiful red clay. After fermentation we aged the eight barrels (50% new) for 20 months prior to unfiltered bottling.
Exotic dark fruits predominate on the nose with blackberry and boysenberry along with layers of spice including fresh ground nutmeg and brown sugar. The palate features beautiful fruit sweetness, with notes of leather, blackberry compote and black tea.
